A Don Miller W9WMV / Chuck Swain K7LMU DXpedition

Our family was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand for the US Air Force in the early 60’s (The secret Vietnam War; the US Air Force in Thailand). It was there that Don gave my Mom a black & white photo QSL card of the same 1965 DX-pedition. The QSL shows Chuck and Don squatting in front of a ‘winged emblem’ KWM-2 supported by two Samsonite suitcases; the photograph was made at the Temple Wat Arun or better known as ‘The Temple of the Dawn’.

I anticipate this card is the rarest of the rare of the Don Miller’s DX operations!!!

HS4ANK 1981 Thailand

I was so surprised to see my QSL card on this website. It brought back many memories. I had HS4ANK for 3 years until I left Thailand in 1983. I sold all my equipment to a friend there and thought I would never get back into it. Well because of all the disasters these days I saw a possible need. So last week end I took my tech test and am now KE5HIF. Anyway I thought I would let someone know that HS4ANK is no longer transmitting but is alive and well.

Joel Dunlap KE5HIF
